Hi PARISians. I want to get started on some things I've been holding off on until the forums were up. Here's one of the top items on the agenda:

I need your help in convincing the Reaper developers to include PPJ and PAF support in Reaper. If Reaper could open and save PARIS projects, a top-notch, inexpensive, and rapidly developing DAW would open up to us. With new ASIO drivers coming, we would be able to use Reaper with our existing PARIS hardware.

Some of the work to make this a reality may have already been done. In April 2007, work began on .paf import, but it was never finished, partly because the Reaper developers felt that the PARIS community had lost interest.

I think it's high time to to correct that impression of lack of interest, and to let the Reaper developers know exactly how valuable this would be to the PARIS community. The timing's as good as it'll ever be; there's been more activity in PARIS development in the last year than there has been in a while, which I'd want to see if I was a developer asking myself "do I want to put the effort into this?". The forum launch has given us a fresh coat of paint, and a greater ability to pursue these communication efforts in an organized fashion, V3.0 of Reaper is in development right now, and Mike's work on ASIO promises the ability to run other DAWs on our PARIS hardware. We'll have choices, and this is a great time for Cockos to demonstrate to the PARIS community what a great choice Reaper would be.

I ask each of you that sees value in this to click on this link, go to the Reaper forum and let them know that we are here - and that we are very interested.

Thanks for your time!

- Kerry
