Paris' pitch shift, as we all know, was not up to the task. I
downloaded
a demo of Serato's Pitch'n'Time and used it in Protools LE. It was
amazing! I was able to shift a Wynton Marsalis piece w/ full orchestra

I would recommend using a direct box.
Also another thing you can try is to lift (cut) the shield on the keyboard
side of your 1/4 cable.

You should have a VISE installer in there somewhere. It looks for folders that are titled
"VST Plug-ins" (not sure about the exact spelling or syntax; it may be "VSTPlugins", "VST Plugins",
"VST Plug-Ins" or "VSTPlugIns") and installs the actual plug-in there. Of course my PARIS Plug-Ins
folder was named "PARIS Plug-ins" and so it didn't give me the option to install Drumagog there. I
had to rename it and re-run the installer. It may not have found your plug-ins folder and installed
it God-knows-where.
Run Sherlock (command-F) and search for files modified on the day you attempted the install. Find
that Drumagog plug and move it to your PARIS VST plugs folder.
I tried it and it works really nicely. I'm definitely going to buy it.
Hope this helped!

Kim,
I don’t think you should be purchasing an expensive battery to extend UPS
life. We can live with an occasional outage. Or set up a PayPal account and
we can all contribute to the Keep-Paris-Alive-Fund.

Have ya tried flipping the AC plug ?
If it's a three pronger grab a three to two adaptor and then try it
DonI work with Serato in PT and in Fairlight and the results are very good, though
on stereo (mixed files) sound sources you can hear the high-end becoming
slightly unclear, but still very usable and certainly giving me the best
results
compared to any other software.
I can't comment on the Waves Transform Bundle and AFAIK Mel

o blow a
half-hour or so for a good cause in the next several days?
If I lived closer, I'd buy dinner and a beer. This whole thing needs
to be no longer than about 3 minutes.
If you can, email me offlist and let me know. Pleeeeaaaase?
I thank you from the bottom of my really appreciative heart.
pabSo,
Two weeks ago I took my laptop in for repair (which is why I haven't
been around of late). It had a known class problem acknowledged on HP's
web site, but they would not repair it under warranty as it had lapsed
two weeks previously, nor would they send me the service kit, saying the
repair had to be done by an authorized service center...they would not
send me the parts. I took it to the closest repair center, took a buddy
with me (turned out be a good choice), and demonstrated the problem,
apply pressure to teh base and the video zips out. They took my laptop,
refused my power supply and said it would be 10 to 15 days.
This past monday was ten days so I called to check on the situation.
They hadn't called me, though the status had been determined a week
earlier. A machine that I physically started up for them and showed it
would boot now needs a motherboard and memory at a minmum because "the
customer plugged in the wrong power supply and fried the components". I
called the actual service center to explore this issue, asked why they
suspected I was the one who plugged in the wrong power supply when I
still had it in my posession and when I left the machine, it did
actually power up. Got hung up on on transfer, left a message and have
not gotten a call back. Won't mention the name of the company but you
can find them inside the "Best Buy" chain.
Finally I have broken down and configured one of my "protected pc's"
with internet access so I could catch up on things like the newsgroup.
Doubtful the resolution of this situation will be anywhere close to "my
satisfaction". :-(I think I speak for both of me when I say to both of you...
;oP !!!
;o)
Cheers,
Kim.

I didn't use a DI box no, because the keyboard has it's own balanced outputs
there's no real point. I just went into the 1/4 inch unbalanced input on
the PA. The cable was longish. 10 or 15 feet maybe?

Unfortunately, and stupidly, this studio has its PA all boarded up so you
couldn't access it's power, or any part of it other than the I/O and knobs,
otherwise plugging into it's powerboard would have been my first act.

The keyboard has it's own balanced outs, but the main keyboard volume doesn't
work when I use it, so I sometimes use the non balanced to gain the use of
the master level. The balanced did work though.

Hehe, yes, but I got the message. :o) I'm pretty sure that wasn't the problem
though. It happenned in two different rehearsal rooms for starters. The first
time it happenned I did play with moving the cables a bit to no avail.

ine it will continue to run fine on the
boxes and software I have. The extra battery will just be a couple of hours
labour one night when I have spare time.
In any case, the UPS runs my net connection too (naturally), and will also
run my VOIP cordless phone, so I'd like it to last a long time. :o) That
way when the power goes out I can still make calls and surf the net, AND
the Paris NG. :o)
Cheers,
Kim.ditto, and try not to harm too many brain cells doing your hooptydoo

making different facts with unbalanced electric components here. I don't

I may consider also adding 442 or another MEC and a C16, at the right price.
Ideaaly 442/MeC/C16 would be black. Low
prices would be good! ;)
Sorry, I know this is in the wrong forum but I thought I might have more
luck here.
I'm in the UK, but would consider international shipping if you can guarantee
a safe, reasonably inexpensively delivery in working order. Please e-mail
