Hey,

I'm using an older version of Cubase . . . I think it's 5 . . . and a
function seems to have mysteriously disappeared.

I have always in the past been able to select a MIDI track, or part, or
notes in the editor and go to the "Function" menu, down to "MIDI functions,"
and then select from the MIDI functions pop-up menu. Lately, all of a
sudden, the "transpose/velocity" function at the top of that pop-up is
"grayed out" i.e., not available. This is true whether I've selected the
track, the part, or individual notes.

There are other ways to transpose or edit the velocity, of course, but
the "transpose/velocity" dialog box had some other interesting options, like
"compress/expand" that I can't get to now.

Any ideas?

Sarah

Did you perhaps inadvertently change something in
your Main "Preferences" menu or anything such as a MIDI
preferences/setup menu? (not familiar with that version of
Cubase, so I couldn't specifically tell you exact menu/submenu
names)
