g that this makes the palaestina side
any better (i see more projections coming).
>No, you espouse selective pacifism which you conveniently misplace
>in Bosnia, but apply rigidly to Israel.
i dont apply it rigidly to israel, i just look at the numbers
and say whose approach so far was the most promising one,
whether that fits in your line of thinking of not.
i listed i think 3 examples where violence worked - WW II,
"iraq - the first edition" and serbia/croatia/bosnia.
i say you cant apply that to every scenario. that are
enough examples where it didnt work (the most obvious
from an american point of view being vietnam i guess).
>Derek, you SAID you were a pacifist, well, except for Bosnia.
....and a few other examples you so conveniently overlooked...
>Ok, so you are not a pacifist. How about taking off the moral
>equivilence between Israel and the Palestinians?
i want them all to be happy and live a peaceful live.
so i say what i think is the most promising way to go
about the situation, which i personally chose based on
who had the best track record so far.
of course its not my call to make. so its more violence.
well, their choice.
nothing on this has anthing to do with me taking sides.
i find religious fanatics too disgusting to actually
even be remotely able to take any side down there. you
have my word one that one.

sorry, im not convinced. (your own words)
>De-escalation is what Spain did, and all those in London paid for it.
>This is not the time for de-escalation.
as if the terror attacks wouldnt have happened otherwise.
you must be dreaming. terror is not under control. terrorists
will do their thing whenever they can. they dont sit
around and say "ok, well, spain wasnt impressed by the terror,
so maybe we should just stop being a terrorist".
there is no way to control terror completely. there may be a way
to *reduce the chances*, but thats as good as it gets, and
as everybody in london will tell you, they expected a terror

e, yes well Windows wouldn't even boot until I did a repair. ;o)
>As with all motherboards you can not compleatly control PCI steering.
Yeh well I haven't actually played with that yet, only had a look in the
BIOS and the manual. In the next couple of days I'll have a further look
at it.
>PCI slot 2 and 3 are the best ones to
>start with when adding cards.
I think I loaded the EDS cards into 2 & 4 at this stage. I'll have a look
at where the interrupts are sitting hopefully tonight and see if a change
is in order.
> I wouldnt bother with the SPDIF connector
>just plug in the USB/Firewire header.
I was actually hoping to use the SPDIF as very very rarely I use a softsynth
or something from outside Paris and figure I could use the SPDIF to record
them into Paris. Haven't played with it yet though.
Also I plan to get one of these famed DAC-1's in the next 12 months or so
and would like to use it for that too.
> On most newer cases you will get
>and extra PCI slot space above the AGP slot.
My case circa 1998 has that. :o)
>The NVidia one would be the best one to leave
>enabled sense it is integrated into the chipset.
AND it's the gigabit one. :o)
> I would also use
>something other than the on board sound if you are using audio software
>other than Paris.
Only other thing I use is Wavelab, which I plan to have another shot at using
the ASIO drivers for. Even though I use Wavelab, in any case I rarely make
any audio decisions in Wavelab. Mostly I do all that in Paris. I might author
a CD in Wavelab, but that's just adjusting track gaps times etc and sound
quality isn't an issue.
>I'd suggest the MAudio AudioPhile 2496 or 192 models
>or use the M-Audio FW Audiophile. Otherwise RME stuff.
At this stage I'm still mostly a Paris guy, though the ability to use Cubase
or something would be nice...
>Here is a quick guide to how I would install things on XP in general.
Hehe, geez, you do a bit of a dodgy rework and next thing you know everyone's
on yer case! ;o)
Seriously though that's some fantastic advice below and I will undoubtedly
go though and do pretty much the whole thing to the letter with a couple
of minor adjustments. You even provided links! How easy! :o) I can see I'm
going to have to find the cash to get these hdd's a bit sooned than I planned
aren't I? ;o)
Thanks heaps, and thanks heaps for that MB recommendation in the first place
too.
