Does anyone know of a good source to find an inexpensive laptop. It isn't
for recording, but I'm hoping someone has researched this already and I can
benefit from the experience.

Thanks

Barry

Also, I've noticed a trend towards Seagate (for desktop computer) hard
drives lately. Is there any reason other than price and warranty or have
people found them to be more reliable.

I'd check out www.techbargains.com every day and see what shows up. Dell is
blowing out their Centrino laptops in anticipation of going fully over do
Core Duo chips so there are some real deals there.

I've always used WD drives and had good luck. I recently ordered two new 250
Gig WD's and both arrived DOA. I got spooked and ordered two Seagates. They
work perfectly. I suppose it was a knee jerk reaction on my part. Time will
tell I guess. No other reason than that for me.

A couple of people here (including DC as I recall) have been talking up Seagates.
I bought two of their 250's and they're working perfectly so far (about a
year). Though my WD120 is still going strong also.

I've of zero failures on Seagates over the past two years, but have heard
of several with issues with WD drives and others. Seagate appear to be on
top of the game lately, and the drives are very very quick also.

Cheers,
Kim.
