Anyone have a recommendation for optimum cluster size for audio work? Seems
like larger sizes might be appropriate. Also, any issues with SATA and
PARIS?
Thanks,
Edna

* /Z:64 option: Format your AUDIO drive with "Format X: /Z:64" for 32k clusters.

Doesn't the usefulness of that kinda depend on what OS you're running?

I'm running XP Pro, SP1. 320GB Seagate SATA drive.
The install software from Seagate only allows up to 4K clusters.

For continuous audio streaming, you want a large cluster size. I think you
can use partition magic to set the large cluster size in xp.

HI Edna,

This will have all the info you need. Anything larger than default(512)
is really meant for huge terabyte plus size drives. There will be no
measurable benefit to using anything larger.
Use the Disk Management Console for doing this not a command line or
boot disk. Much safer and easier.
