OK guys, I just have to ask this. The 02R was a painfully bad sounding mixer.
Ditto the 01V. One of my best buddies in the DSP programming business and
I once listened to a bunch of different digital mixers at the Frankfurt Messe.
Yamaha, Korg, Tascam and a few others, all in the high end project/low end
commercial studio range. We just took a CD around and listened through headphones.
The EQs were the personification of bad digital EQ--might look good in the
textbook but it sounded awful. The compressors were decent, no character
but a fair degree of control. The reverbs sounded as digital as pretty much
anything I've ever heard.
So, does the DM2K sound _completely_ different than their previous digital
gear?
