Hey Deej,
Up here I'm "that" guy also...the one with comp troubles that no one's
even ever heard of. That's partly how I ended up with a comp sci guy as
my guru...lol ...finally someone who *understands* me....
I feel for ya, bro. Have you reached the 7th level of zen where you
have to install *everything* in the "correct order" also?...hey don't
laugh, it's odd that it makes a difference but it seems to...drivers
"eating" other drivers for lunch and that sorta stuff...hardware with
voltage that's not right, but will let a non-power user get away with
stuff...that sorta thing...
Keep at'r man! Our machines are more akin to "digital bulldozers" than
your average comp/kitchen device....lol

I have searched the net many times and, to my knowledge, I'm the only person
in the universe that is trying to use the particular hardware combination
I've got here. I could be wrong though.......I just haven't yet run across
anyone trying to use 3 RME PCI cards and 4 x UAD-1 cards. There are some
major *issues* with PCI overload and lots of configuration hoops to jump
through to get this to happen without crackling in the audio when UAD
resources exceed 40%..
I think my troubles have to do with using 3 x RME HDSP PCI cards instead of
using a MADI system and being hard headed enough to not want
to............MADI would not really give me the combination of I/O that I
want.
2 x HDSP 9652's and a Multiface is *exactly* the ticket to interface with my
Paris system, 6 MEC modules and all of the AES and SPDIF gear I have here.
There is a definite reason I'm putting myself through this grief, plus,
since it is sooo friggin tricky to get this particular situation to work, I
seem to get a perverse pleasure out of trying to bend it to my will.
