442 and MEC with BNC? [message #62870]

Wanna hook my ol' trusty 442 to the MEC with the BNC. Is it better to have
the 442 (ext clock out) on card A (ext. clock out to the MEC) or B (clock in
from the MEC), and are there any configs in Paris you have to make or will
Paris initialize and recognize both units?

I can't speak for a twio card system, but on a 3 x card system being clocked
externally, it works much better if the 442 is on card A.

I am assuming that you have two EDS cards to hook these interfaces
to... With the MEC on the "A" card, patch from word clock out on the
MEC to word clock in on the 442. Use a good quality 75 Ohm cable, as
short as possible to make the connection.

FWIW, I used a MEC to 442 2 card, then 3 card rig for years. A card had the
MEC, C card the 442. Use a good quality BNC cable, keep it short as you can.
