Well, these just arrived today

and I'll be setting them up soon. I did a lot of listening, though not as
much as I would have liked, and settled on those. It came down to the Focals
for a couple hundred more, but no sub, and these. I've usually avoided the
stereo + sub thing but as my music has become more and more bass oriented
I'd like to know a little more about what's going on below 80 Hz. They claim
to be only 3db down at 28 Hz, which is more than enough for a room like I
have.
The final thing that clinched it for me is the remote for the sub. I want
to be able to turn it off most of the time, and only have it there when I
want to check something on the low, low end. With the remote that's a lot
easier to do.
Anywho, after I've listened to them for a few weeks I'll let y'all know.
From NS10s to Mackie to NHT to KRK V8s to these. At the very least I should
understand a lot more about how monitors sound ;-)

TC,
I received my Adam A7's just over a week ago. Spec page shows flat from
46hz to 35khz so I don't know what's happening below. I mix without a sub
but you are right, when I turn on my sub I can hear and feel the freq's
below and is important to know that they are there especially with heavy
kick or keyboard bass patches. I went from NS-10's to A7's.
The A7's definitely are smoother, more precise and warmer. The cabinet is
deeper and ported. I also was recommended to just up the pwr to 200w to
push the NS10's and they would come alive. I had been using the Alesis
RA-100. I recently have seen new Alesis pwr amps with 200 or 250w which I
considered primarily because of how quiet and cool they were in my simple
home single room studio, but I didn't have much info on them.
Since I only run a single output audio for monitoring and mixing (stereo
only) from the MEC s/pdif to my DAC1 and balanced cable to the A7's, I also
chose this powered monitor due to the power switch and volume knob on the
front. When tracking, I use the DAC1 headphone jacks and turn off the A7s'.
The DAC is set to variable so that the DAC volume control controls both
headphone and monitor levels.
So considering where I came from and after a week of mixing I'd say this
about the A7's . . . they translate better then my previous setup and are
less fatiguing.
btw - I posted an ADAT card for sale on the FS site for those interested.

Hey Wayne,
Glad you're digging yours. I didn't set up the sub last night, just the satellites
and just giving them an initial quick listen with some CDs I know well I'm
happy. They sound better than I remember, great transients, which matters
to me.
I think I'm going to start with the sub just set with the 85Hz rolloff filter
built into it and go from there.

Adam's rock! I own a pair of P33A's, I then bought a pair of the S1A's with
their 10" sub, am getting a pair of A7's for my church's studio and I'll
be putting in (5) A7's in my own studio for mixing surround to picture.
There is NOTHING else like them, they are dead-accurate. My system is top-grade
from input to output, there's not a single flaw (besides me! grrr) in my
home studio, it's amazing the level of detail heard on my S-series ADAM's,
I'm even more amazed just how much of that quality translates over to the
A7's too!
