Have you tried opening them up as raw files in Wavelab? If you know your
sampling rate and bit depth, you can put that in and tell it that it's in
Motorola format. Wavelab should be able to open it up, and then you can
save it as a WAV file and get to work.
davidstay tuned.....bitching and whining to be announced.Have you tried to clean the DVD? Sometimes I get CD's or DVD's that I have
problems to read/copy from, so I buied a Disc Restore system some years ago,
to take care of that. Have saved over 90% of problems with discs with it.

I tried putting the original drive back in but the problem is still there.
Both CD and DVD drives cause the error now.
Everything else works. I think I could run 4 hard drives with no problem.

>The RNC is a great little box for the bucks. If you're talking about tracking
thru compressors, I'd say this: I frequently (but not always) track vocals,
bass, guitars and horns thru compressors, usually dbx 160X for vocs, UREI
LA-4's for guitars and bass (although the 160X is nice for them too) and horns,
then RNC (I have 3 of 'em). I never track drums thru compressors! Nor do I
ever gate drums. I would always rather have the un-compressed drum tracks
first, then compress as needed after. In fact, I frequently don't compress
drums, even in the mix...
Just my .02 worth.

Will it come up in safe mode with either optical drive installed? That
could help narrow down the field on where the problem exists.

monster G5. I must say that *elegant in every way* was my
impression..........but that's my impression of Pro Tool HD system too.
IMO, with both of them, the purchaser becomes the *screwee* whenever the
moneymonkey needs a new injection of cash. Thing is, with a little tweaking,
I can achieve at least an equal, if not better result with alternative
platforms and not become one with the Borg.

.
If Apple can deliver a dual core laptop at a reasonable price, and if
the major production software is updated quickly, then it could be an
amazing system.
Just have to wait and see...
