Hi All,

I did a search and tried reinstalling both the drivers and the PARIS app/effects
subsystem, but I keep getting the error 1/1 when I launch PARIS in XP.

I'm at a loss.

All help appreciated!

Mike

I shoould give some more details.

I decided to replace my old 80 GB Maxtor before if forced me to, and I reinstalled
Windows XP from scratch.

I have a Windows 98 partition, and from there, PARIS works perfectly. So,
I know that the cards are seated properly, connections are good, etc. The
drivers show up in the device manager in XP ok. Everything looks good except
the 1/1 error.

I'm afraid I might just be beat.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Mike

If this is any help here's my paris.cfg in xp. I'm pretty stable now after
getting my mb irqs correctly labeled in the manual so I know what slot shares
with what? BTW, I don't put paris on anything that shares and in bios i
reserve those slots and IRQ3 for my 2 EDS cards and I turn off lpt1, usb
and serial.

Also, I have two drives. My xp drive that is UDMA4 and my audio drive that
is formated with /64 option (i think that's 32k clusters). After xp is installed,
i run the install for the scherzo drivers, then Paris install, then the
effects subsystem. I do about 30 tweaks after that. (i can post em if you
still have no luck).

Hi John,

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I finally got it sorted out.

The weird part is that no matter what I did, I could not get PARIS to work
under XP with a fresh install of windows XP. I guess the moral of the story
is .... GHOST!!! I moved cards around, used different XP disks - nothing
would beat the error 1/1.

Also, if you have several partitions like I do, you need to use the -FDSP
parameter when launching the DOS GHOST.exe from the floppy to maintain your
drive letters. Not doing that made things a nightmare for a while. I'm
so glad this is behind me.

All the best,

Mike
