>Kim,
In case you haven't been watching the threads... with the gigabyte motherboard,
I sorted out all the issues in the end. I beleive there was a dodgy WinXP
disk involved in most of my issues, and in the end I discovered that the
board I got was faulty, as the SATA ports on the board died in the end, and
it's now been taken back to the store for replacement.
But, in the middle there, I did get the thing running perfectly. I spent
a weekend with Paris loaded with all my plugins, switching from project to
project and playing different things, and she was running perfectly. Once
I got everything properly loaded, I couldn't fault it.
So despite all the troubles I had, I'd still recommend this board. It's extremely
quick, and seems capable of being extremely stable as well, so long as you
use a working XP disk and don't get a faulty board. ;o)
Cheers,
Kim.

It was an "Ultra" wasn't it? There seem to be a few variants of
this board, the differences between which I don't know.

I'll look into it tomorrow, as I need to head off now.
The mobo is an Asus P4PE.
The Bios seemed happy enough with the drives.
I shall probably be switching shortly to the Gigabyte KNS Ultra,
on Kim's recommendation.

e efforts people
are going to.
Cheers,
Kim.It's seems to be nearly similar to the Asus A8V Deluxe board I have ordered
and will get in about a week or so.
http://no.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=238& amp;l1=3&l2=15&l3=0
I've changed my order for the processor to an AMD64 X2 3800 dual core so I'm
really curious on what will happen when testing out.
http://www.techreport.com/reviews/2005q3/athlon64-x2-3800/in dex.x?pg=1
I think the only differenc is the new Firewire-B port on K8NS Ultra 939 and
the geforce 3 chipset, where A8V Deluxe is using normal Firewire and VIA
K8T800Pro chipset.
I will test it with Paris too but I don't know how the chipset will work
with ME yet.
Regards
Erling

ZmoraI don't think there is - anyone know if you can hook a magma chassis up to a
laptop?

It works just fine though.
