for my first paris rig

I have

one EDS 1000
control 16
black mec with 2x 8 ins , 8 outs , adat i/o
cables for control 16, and mec to eds
software 3.0

i need to buy the plugins ! i wonder how much they will all run me

I have 3.0 tho!



I need to get a PC rig up and running preferably windows 7
i've been pm'ing hungaristan and i can't wait to see his new rig!!

Congrats! Yup, EDS are the older PCI spec. Still lots of modern mobos with it though. An older PC is a great way to get started, it won't matter much to the core of PARIS itself, which got exactly the same EDS plugin counts and extreme low latency on a Pentium 166 as it would on a quad core - the extra processing power's really for the non-core stuff. you can always build a powerhouse a little further down the road.

yea i'm going to get it up in a old PC !



and in the mean time build a power PC

By plugins you mean the newer Paris-specific (EDS) plugs? The link to Mike Audet at the top of the page will send you to his plugs and prices...

yea i saw that but i'm trying to get a bundle for all of em , and maybe/maybenot the drivers

that's what i did
installed it on an old pc in the meantime
if the drivers for windows 7 get released, i will be moving everything to my hackintosh which runs windows 7 and leopard Smile
everything runs superb as of right now

I'm about to build a new PC running win xp sp2 for Paris

Hi,

I can't help with new mobo's.

all i can say is it works perfects with those two chipsets :

VIA KT400 (found on ASUS A7V8X board)
nvidia Nforce3 (found on a MSI neo platinium).

XP "standard" driver, with XP pro.

i second the good comments on mike's reverbs.
