can't remove 2nd card... unhandled exception [message #101227]

Hey all... I'm trying to go from two cards to one... I know which is my "serialized"
card but when I remove the second card I can't launch Paris. I get the error:

"... there are not enough free resources available"

and then:

"... unhandled exception C0000005
At address 0048c425"

not sure what is up... if i replace the second card and the interconnect
cables everything is fine.
