Another announcement that's going somewhat unnoticed (everywhere), Steinberg
release VST 2.4 with 64-bit support: 64-bit audio files, and double
precision processing. With 64-bit DAWs and updated VST plugins, that would
be a full 64-bit path all the way through to the final dither to 24, or
premaster 32-bit/32-bit float. How that really translates in the real world
is yet to be seen, er heard.

HI Dedric,
Yes I thought this was the best news so far myself. But hopefully
manufacturers won't waste time developing for windows 64 pro and just
focus on Vista.

To many of them are caving in to customers demands that want to think
they have something better than their neighbor.

HI james,
Your gonna see allot of this for any of the companies that have cross
platform apps. Some of the Mac only based coders may have some growing
pains. Hey maybe this will make some of Mac only apps folks get their
heads out of their asses and release windows version now.
