Does Paris have any problems with SATA Drives?

I'm planning on building my hackintosh-paris rig, and investigating a lot of mobos.

I'm noticing that there are some decent mobos with 6 pci slots out there Smile

What world clock would you guys recommend?

6 pci slot mobo thread http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/home-theater-pc-discussion/4 1043-motherboard-6-pci-slots.html

in some sense i'm kinda thinking of just going for the magma chassis....

what would you suggest mobo with lots of pci slots? or magma chasis?

do the eds cards give off enough heat where its best to have a magma sense I plan to have a good amount of eds cards ( at least 4)??

I have SATA on my PARIS comp and it seems fine; haven't torture tested it yet though. Common sense would say it would be great, but actual usage doesn't always bear out common sense, so I'm wondering the same thing.

As far as word clock, that's new ground for me with PARIS. You clock the MECs rather than the EDS, so it goes by numbers of MECs you have - I believe with three or more, you need an external word clock and with less than three you don't.

Hosa makes an inexpensive one; haven't yet heard if it's a good match for PARIS or not - http://www.samash.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_WDC4 27%20Word%20Clock%20Generator_-1_10052_10002_-49982655

My Last system had a combination of IDE and SATA drives...solid as a rock.

My new rig has nothing but SATA drives and so far all is stable

Hope that helps
