Hi Tom,
I'm really not sure in the new driver would be ideal on a single core system.
If there was a problem, like ADAT cards not working, it might be worth a
try. The original is more efficient on a single core machine because it
isn't protecting its variables.
On the other had, the new Scherzo is compiled with a more modern version
of the driver DDK, and it puts the second half of interrupt handling at the
front of the list of DPCs to be processed. So, it could still work better
with the ASIO that I'm about to start on.
I guess if everything is working fine on a single core machine, don't fix
what isn't broken. But, there aren't going to be any new single core machines,
which is why I felt this driver was so important.
I'm just stoked that I can use PARIS on my quad core. :) Thirteen years
ago, I worked six days a week all summer at Jenny Craig to make enough money
to buy a Session 8. Then, Digidesign screwed me by not updating the driver
properly for Windows 95. Well, not this time. :)
All the best,
Mike

aloha....
long time no post on here...
I have a question regarding this.... I saw the actual release, but i want
to make sure all is kosher with my system before I purchase the new driver.
will this beta still work to get up and running just to make sure everything
will work with the system before I purchase?
I would like to take the paris system out of mothballs for a couple projects
I am currently working on...

Hi Scott,
There are some bugs in 1.31, but it generally works. I had my system lock
up once with it.
All the best,
Mike
