That's political propaganda. I never heard Bush claim religion of any kind
as a reason to vote for him. If you as a Christian are saying he shouldn't
even claim to be one as a politician, then you are simply hastening the
demise of anyone's right to claim any faith of any kind in public.

You've extrapolated your own perception of the election after the fact to
make your argument.

Yes, and it is applicable all the time, but I don't see your point of
quoting it in the context of this discussion, other than to backup my point.

This just proves my actual point in my last post if you read it more
carefully, fwiw.

Patriotism isn't bravado - only a flag-burning, moral relativistic mentality
degrades it to that state. I don't doubt you believe these verses, as I do,
but if you, or anyone else truly wanted to live the last verse you quoted
and all of the others, they would feel the need to make the accusations and
claims you have made in calling our government killers and saying you would
rather support terrorists.

So then, why bring up auto worker unions and gun rights as part of your
argument against Christians and citizens that *don't* make it a habit of
slandering the President and our government just to appease our
frustrations, whatever they may be?

I don't follow your reasoning. Reread my post. It wasn't the blind retort
to your post you might think, though I was refuting several points of your
argument. It was a broader perspective on the state of our country's
values, which I will continually assert is a source and symptom of the
*real* problem - one that is independent of who is in office or what war we
may be fighting - and one that is evident in the arguments I see time and
time again. You claim my reference to patriotism is bravado, or perhaps you
think patriotism is nothing but bravado, but my post was in no way waving a
flag of patriotism for patriotism's sake, but rather a reference to the loss
of patriotism as it should be. You made an incorrect assumption.

You are dead wrong. Mr Bush personally visited our Church and several other
area churches during the 2004 election. As well as Mr Karl Rove himself visited
on numerous occasions stating that Mr Bush is one of us.
Even back in mid 2002, we we one the three churches to hold the first National
day of Prayer celebration. in which Mr Bush was on -hand via satellite to
offer a support and prayers. You don't think he was using or mixng politics
with religion.

We have the largest base of Arabs in the nation here in Detroit, and i never
heard of Mr Bush stating that he wanted to participate in any other ritual
prayers.. ?? I wonder why?? Bad politics i guess...

being that our Pastor is a bush supporter..Where do you think the term "Faith
Based" initiative came from?? AND, what is it motive??
They used the so called faith-based initiative as a rallying call to all
us Christians to elect the Mr Bush. We were told that the Kerry (A Catholic)
was not a "real" Christian. Only Mr bush.

Then his camp trumped up the same sex marriage as their rallying cry to the
polls.
Even one our most prominent area Pastors (Bush supporter)just lost in a republican
primary run -off race for the US senate. His reasons were, "we need" more
of us in the government. u being, Charismatic, right winged Christians
