I thought some of you might find this interesting. I hope this thing sounds
good. Here is a link to dancetech.com, there is a down loadable video demo
of an early version of the Focusrite LiquidMix.
http://dancetech.com/aa_dt_new/hardware/item.cfm?threadid=39 82&lang=0
Here is a list of the Liquidmix assets, and a down loadable pdf.
http://www.focusrite.com/files/Liqui...s_cutsheet.pdf
Compressors:
API 2500, Avalon VT737SP, BSS DPR402, Chiswick Reach, Drawmer DL221X, Drawmer
1960, DBX (160S, 165) Empirical Labs Distressor, Fairchild 670, Focusrite
(ISA 130, Green Channel, Red 7), Manley (Slam, Stereo Variable Mu), Joe Meek
SC2, Millenia STT-1, Neve (2254, 33609, VR), Pye 84 4060/01, Smart C2, SSL
(FX G384, SL4000 G+, SL510), Summit (DCL-200, TLA-100A), Teletronix/UA/Urei
(LA-2A, 1176LN, LA-3A, LA-4), TL Audio C-1, Tube Tech (CL-1B, LCA 2B)
EQ's:
Neve (1073, 1058), API (550b, 559, 550a), Pultec (EQ1-P, MEQ-5, EQH-2), Focusrite
(Platinum Voice Master, ISA 115, Platinum Bass Factory), Avalon (VT 747SP,
VT 737SP, 2055), EAR 822Q, SSL (E, G), Manley Massive Passive, Amek Angela,
Chandler Limited EMI Passive TG Abbey Road
Some of the compressors have more than one emulation (like the API 2500 is
there in both Old/Normal/Hard and Old/Normal/Soft settings). And the library
of both will be added to in the future.

Hopefully they have done a better job on this unit than the Liquid
Channel, which received very luke warm reviews.

This unit looks pretty cool... I might just have to have one of
thse or I might...
:)
I think the Liquichannel got mediocre reviews mostly because of
it's price point - regardless of what it does, that's a lot to
ask for a silver-faced single-channel box that visually reminds
one of their lower-end platinum series stuff.
They should made it some other color - like "nonemoreblack".
Or perhaps if they had made it a two-channel unit at the same
price point (which could've easily been done, since it's mostly
software doing the work), they'd have sold a BILLION of 'em...
a BILLION of 'em, I tellya!

This also looks pretty nice (similar price):
http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/duende_home.html
Hopefully at least one will live up to expectations. LiquidMix has the
controller too - pretty nice addition. Both would be nice, but I'm
wondering if they might not share firewire as agreeably as hard drives.

Do you know what the cost of the SSL is? It looks cool, I wonder how close
they sound to the original. People are also talking positively about the
Waves SSL4000 plugins.
http://sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=2647
It's always good to have options.

$1599 - firewire interface.
http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/duende_home.html for the details.
32 channels of mono EQ and dynamics (44.1/48k) 16 stereo. Half that at
88.1k/96k. EQ and dynamics are taken from E and G series consoles, as well
as the stereo buss comp from the 4000G. Duende are C200 series EQs and
dynamics, where the Waves versions are 4000 series. No word yet whether
they run with UAD-1 or Powercore cards.

I can tell you really like the Pulsars. Are you running them on a standalone
PC or? What model Pulsar do you have? Thanks for all the great posts and
information. What type of music do you work with?
Thanks as always!

Hi,
I use a separate daw for pulsar cards.
I have three pulsar II cards for a total of 18 dsps.
One ethernet card to have midi overlan and network with Paris daw.
Pulsar cards are realtime so no asio latency problems there.
I make rock/pop music and ocassionally dance.
I have a finishing project with a UK female singer that I am very proud of
and believe it will make its way in US.
I will be needing your help and maybe collaboration when it will be ready.
Thank you for youy interest.
Regards,
Dimitrios

For sure - do you have anything that you would let someone (like me ) take
a listen to - I find this to be very helpful. If you would not mind sharing
any signal paths and eq etc for the track also. (if not do not worry bout
it)
Thanks for all the great posts and the knowlege sharing!!

Sure I will be doing this for you and anyone on this forum!
I will carefully listen to your oppinion and would also follow any possible
route that would lead this project to the place it belongs to...
I will post when my productions company's website will be ready so you can
listen to MP3's there.
