Here's one I've never seen: "Error in saving project. Error code 61448/f008."

And it's not just the last one I was working on, I can't save any project
file, with or without changes. What the unh-unh?!

I'm going to go ahead and get some work done tonight, and hope that the work
isn't lost somehow.

I tried to circumvent the problem and realized I get the same basic error
message when trying to render a track full of segments to disk: "Error in
rendering files to disk. Error code 61448/foo8".

I can't even go back to previous project files and start over. It just keeps
giving me the same error message.

I think the whole thing started when I rendered a segments from a few different
files to one file on one track. Things got glitchy when i did that last night.
I think. I've tried so many things since then...

WTF?!

I just tried ninstaling/reinstalling Paris and all components and I got the
same result. I still can't save or render in any project. I am absolutely
flabbergasted, as I've used Paris since near the beginning and have never
before seen this error message.

Yea Jim, that's a strange one, as if you don't have full rites to the HD or
something. Have you tried saving to another / external drive, if you still
can't I would guess somekind of privilege status not set properly in windowz
maybe. Your other apps are saving fine are they? All your drives are showing
up in the bios boot sequence? Fat32, NTFS issues?

Good luck
Rob

Alright, kids. Thanks for chiming in.

I am able to save a project onto my "C" drive, but not onto my "E" (audio)
drive. I haven't tried to render a track onto my "C" drive, but I'm sure
it would work.

I suppose I can do some work tonight and just work with the project on my
"C" drive, which is fine for now, but it's not a great long-term solution
for me, as me and Swen regularly swap hardrives between computers. Are you
guys still using seperate drives for audio? Is it even necessary, strictly
speaking?

Maybe some of Rob's iideas are on the right track?

Thanks,
Jimmy

Putting audio on a separate is a very good idea because this way you OS is
not seeking the drive while audio is trying to stream to it.

So I guess maybe I'll just reformat the "E" drive, see what happens.

Sounds kind of like you pissed off XP's sense of security. Go to.....

My Computer: right click E drive.
Go to security tab. Give everyone full control. Reboot.

Still got that issue?

Oh my god, you're right! Yay Dimitrios!

Pardon my language, but what a complete dumbass I am. It's a good thing I'm
a musician and not a computer scientist.

I am ashamed, so very ashamed...

And so we push onwards.

BTW, me and Swen just signed a licensing deal with a pretty successful company.
These guys have had several lucrative placements with film and TV, including
"Grey's Anatomy", so we're pretty excited. They came looking for us about
a week after we started handing out CDs to friends for feedback after years
of working on this music, so we feel confident they are going to work hard
on our behalf. We're excited!
