For those of you who have left Paris for greener pastures or are considering
doing so, what systems have you moved to ? And can you use paris hardware
with other newer systems. I love paris but some of the bugs just wear on
me after a while. I can only imagine how you guys who use paris with clients
must get frustrated at times.

My two biggest frustrations w/ Paris are (in order of importance to me):
1) Can't use cool new plugins like UAD-1's Neve EQ, Waves IR-1 reverbs,
VocAlign, Pitch'n'Time, etc.
2) Not being able to automate sends, EQs and plugin parameters.
I've learned to live w/ the bugs and other quirks. I also have DP and PT
LE. I haven't tried Logic yet. I have friends who use Nuendo and love it,
but I don't know if that's the best way to go for a Mac Dude like me.
God help me... I still love the way Paris sounds!

I'm currently using Logic Pro on a dual 2.5GHZ G5 Mac with 2.5GB RAM
(room for 8GB). Plenty fast for tons of tracks, FX and soft synths, and
Logic comes with a good selection of both. I've added some additional
Audio Unit soft synths.
I have had Logic quit on me but I have never lost an audio track or a
project file and I've been using Logic for a few years now. With the
last few Logic updates the stability is improved and they finally fixed
my top three bugs (see other threads).
OSX runs here for weeks/months without rebooting. Journaled file system,
decent security, reasonable multi-tasking. Nice system for video editing
and animation/graphics, too.

i'm not saying it happens a lot but it has happened to me and others i
know. and the reboot is for logic not the mac.

Ah, OK. "Reboot" means to restart the OS, something that's very rarely
necessary with OSX.
Starting Logic again if it quits makes sense. Logic has quit on me also,
but the last few updates have made it much more stable while fixing the
most annoying (to me) bugs. Logic hasn't lost any data here even during
its least stable period. It seems pretty reliable now and the feature
set is amazing.
Logic has progressed to the point where I can now recommend it.
