Go to this link & scroll down & play the cut called "Misery
Business" - I am REALLY diggin' her voice... good power, tight
& focused vibrato... wait at least 'til it goes through a
couple of chorus sections. Nice mix, too. The sections at 2:05-
ish and around 2:50 are especially nice highlights for her
voice.

Hi Neil,

I just played through the track. It isn't really my bag baby, but her vocals
were clear and strong and I noticed, dry which is a little unusual :-) I
also didn't notice any blatant autotune artifacts, which is even rarer. I
don't know if you guys have noticed, but on FM radio and the compression
they use you can spot autotune in about 2 ms by the amount of ringing (modulation?)
going on in the 2 khz range.

You were probably digging the guitars on this track, cause from what I can
gather this is the type of precise in your face sound you have been lusting
after.

Paramore is one of my daughters favorite "new" bands. I actually like them
also. I've started paying more attention to what she likes since she started
getting into Zepplin, Hendricks, etc. I figure she's got good taste. She's
currently on a quest to acquire every Beatles album (well, from Rubber Soul
on anyway). Did I mention she's only 15? Daddy didn't raise no dummy! ;>)

add to that most are now using mp3 format...ever try turning up the
volume (and i don't mean much) and hear all the distortion?

I think it sounds really extremely overly compressed. It made me sort of =
uncomfortable and queasy. I'd say it's very well done for an overly =
compressed song though. I can hear everything that is happening within =
the flat line. The drums sound like they've got transient envelopes =
modifying transient envelopes to the point that they sound more like =
sonic pops than actual drums. I've heard midi drums that sounded better =
to my ears.

I guess I'm just a gnarly old fart and I'm soooo damned tired of loud =
walls of noise being mistaken for music.=20

(bah!!! humbug!!!)

;o)
