great sounds John,
Wondering if you want mix critiques?
Most of my thoughts are simply level tweaks
I'd bring that organ/rhodes type of keys way down..blowing away the bass
and drums that are the heart beat of the shit. ALso that stereo treatment
is too distracting from the song..And the horns and keys are too out front...
Also bring the vix up a CH..

Let the song chill a bit.. don't try so hard to make a "mix"

Just my thoughts...very close and better sounds than I ever get

Remember the lyric is where it is at..Listen to Culture or G Isaacs to get
in vibe.

Ya mon!

thanks. i definitely want major critiques. others are telling me the same
things regarding organ too loud (horns, hi hat too) and others said bring
the bass up a notch. What stereo treatment are you refering too? Everything?
guitars, drums, keys?

And what's a "vix up a CH.."? Thanks for listening !!

I was talkin' bout the stereo organ patch or whatever it is almost like a
suitcase rhodes, which I love a lot.. but in this case the panning back
and forth seems a bit distracting..could be that it's just a tad loud.

By the way, I'm going through the mix critiques/ tiny tweaks with ,my band
right now too. Seems to me like when 3 of us say the same thing in our notes..it's
usually the right move, but I don't like to mix by vote either. there is
no one right way for sure.

Nice job. I love reggae. Like Country & Jazz (nont smooth) classical music,
it's our last refuge of real playing organic music.

Well put! I happen to catch Clinton Fearon in Boston last week..Smokin band..
The openers were a decent young group called Pressure Cooker..but man when
Clinton's Rhythm section kicked in hells bells..they knocked me out.

What is also amazing is that you can still catch some of the masters in small
clubs for not much dough

Sorry to hijack.
