Jimmy,
Might want to find a cooler place than your closet for the new one too.
I'd hate to see this happen again to you.

Chris,
What's be best reccommended RAM for the K8NS-Ultra 939? I'm thinking of
buying a couple of 1G RAM sticks and putting this to use somehow. I may even
try that AMD patch to see if I can get a dual core CPU to work with Paris.
Thanks,
DJ

Not sure what you mean here, but thanks for the advice. If there is some
kind of RAM that affects interrupts, it's news to me. Looks like the Samsung
RAM is going pretty cheap these days.

HI DJ,
Thought you were talking about cpu affinity patch not the dual core
driver patch.
You might try this tool for running Paris on the dual core. Not sure if
it will effect the control 16 or not though.
Search download and install the rktools.exe from Microsoft's web site.
Read the resource kit help file. This is the section that you want to
read up on "Intfiltr.exe: Interrupt Affinity Filter". Make sure you do a
back up of your system sense your doing some registry editing.
Also make make sure you set the EDS cards to use the first CPU. don't
spread them out across the 2.
YOu'll have to boot into safe mode to fix it if it doesnt work.

I'm not sure if the SD chip is the 3800 x 2, but if it is, I hear these can
be ridiculously OC'ed.......like to 4200 + so it's likely the best deal out
there.
;o)
