hey, guys-
where's the latest coolest place to post humongous files, like big audio
files, so folks can share them and such like that there?
I remember some posts about this some years back, but I suspect things have
changed greatly since then.
thanks in advance

Tony-
I appreciate the offer! that's very cool of you. I assume you are making
this generous offer for Paris-related things.
This is not in any way Paris related. I just played a festival with some
LA folk down near Sequoia Nat'l Park, and one of the guys recorded the whole
thing on his pocketbook sized Edirol recorder, and asked me what web site
I'd recommend to put the files and photos up for the rest of the band to
share. I think it was a few hundred Megabytes.
I googled "web storage large files" and the first one that came up was http://www.streamload.com,
which offers 25G free, which you can upload in 25M hunks. I remember a thread
about such things years ago, but don't remember the details. Folk telling
about various websites where they could store Gigs of stuff.

Steve,
Surpass Hosting offers a 5 GB storage plan for $65/year, a 10GB plan for
$110, etc. Highly reliable, extremely responsive tech support (nearly immediate!)
and nice tools.
I've been hosting stateofwail.com with them for a couple of years and am
very satisfied. The band members can setup anonymous ftp, etc. very easily
for file sharing.
Have a great day!

The offer is good for anyone who frequents our group, PARIS related or not.
It's the only "real" thing I could think to offer back to the group (besides
my witty insightfulness of course) ;>) I have 30 gigs of space and am only
using a few at the moment. If there is free space out there and it's easier
to use, that's cool too. I'm going to find out how to set up the anonymous
ftp anyway for people to use in the future. I'll let you know when I sus it
out just in case the other sites have a catch.

Thanks, Tony. I appreciate it.
I've forwarded this info to my friend. We'll see what happens.
