Heya John, welcome back! Still linking to you at the top of the page - your site is still one of the most valuable go-to resources for PARIS.
The NG server didn't move - this forum and the NG were separate but allied, and had different focuses (Kim kept the traditional/open-topic/unmoderated NG running, and the forums tackled things from a more platform-specific focus). They were designed from the git-go to co-exist in ongoing sync via php script. It worked well for a while (multi-month tech nightmare getting there of course). But eventually Kim closed the NG down in order to go on a sort of extended sabbatical in Europe.
There was some talk about folks creating a successor to the NG; the response was muted at the time, but one never knows - I don't even entirely rule out the possibility that Kim might return from Europe at some point in the future, get unpacked and settled in, flip a switch and start up the old NG again as suddenly as it left.
