It's been rumored for a while. A third party has come out with an expensive
conversion. Apple tries to not step on their third party venders. It will
depend on how far along they are in development of their tablet.

One thing is for sure, if Apple releases a tablet, they will act like it's
something brand new as if they invented, and tell you it's the coolest thing
since sliced bread; )

HI James,
If they base it on the touch screen they "invented" for the I-Phone
then it would very cool.

There working on something. They have a lot of recent patents filed. One
has to do with graphics and window resizing. Time will tell!

For Apple it's back to school season. That means new lap tops soon and new
iPods in the fall. They are talking flash drives, 811n wireless and built
in G3 (cell phone) in their lap tops for wireless internet connectivity.

I'd love to see an affordable tower that's upgradeable.

I can't wait to see Leopard Mac OSX 10.5! We should know something in June
when WWDC happens.

Hi James,
Hey maybe they will allow box builders to make there own boxes even. LOL
If you think Microsoft is all pumped up about the open source imagine
people if Dell and Gateway offer OSX as a options ha.
Ain't gonna happen but it would be the funniest thing ever.
Hey and now that Steve Baulmer has basically finished his hostile take
over of MS thats been in process of doing for years now maybe Bill leave
completely and kiss and make up with Jobs.
Gates does have some pretty brilliant ideas left in him but think MS is
to slow moving for some of his ideas to be put into action. They are
heading into the same pit as the US car companies unless they get
completely split up ala Ma Bell. If Gates ever partnered with Jobs I
think the Poles might reverse.

It's all debatable. I think the cold war still brews between these two companies
and their personalities.

MS Office is what MS has on Apple. Apple needs MS Office to survive in the
business world. MS once again, is currently dangling MS Office over Apples
head. They are F...ing with Apple on XML compatibility. They are stalling
Apple just like they did in 1997, and many other times in the past. I'm
sure Apple is working on an Office suite.

The real kicker would be if Apple came out with an Office suite of software
for PC and Mac that blew away MS Office, then gave it away for free. That
would be a play right out of Microsoft's kill Netscape play book. Then Apple
made it possible to run any PC software on Mac OSX without Windows. The
last nail would be licensing a PC version of there OS to everybody and selling
it retail. The latter is not likely to happen.

Since I'm talking in fantasy-land, I'd like to see Apple buy SUN, and charge
MS through the nose to license JAVA. It was once rumored, but that's not
going to happen now either.

Oracle developed over 40 enterprise software programs for the Mac in the
past. I know it would be getting in to bed with the devil, but I like to
see Apple drop their prices on servers and team up with somebody like Oracle
to take on MS on the enterprise front. Not likely to ever happen.

Apple is now Apple Inc., a consumer products company. I think there happy
being number 2 and innovating new products. I think they would rather try
to get along with MS than to wage war with them.

As far as Jobs and Gates working together, I think Jobs is disgusted with
MS copying the look and feel of Mac OS again. I highly doubt that Jobs would
let Gates anywhere near anything Apple is working on.

I think Gates status with MS is just a formality and away to avoid any culpability.
I believe he is still fully in control. You know what they say, Once a
weasel always a weasel.

Chris I'm not trying to offend you, I realize you think highly of Gates,
I just don't.

James
