This may have been posted here before, but I just got around to trying this
EQ:
http://www.aixcoustic.com/index.php/Products/8/0/ (Electri-Q) (up to 64
bands)

Also the freeware version:
http://www.savioursofsoul.de/Christian/Plugins.htm (Posihfopit).

Probably the best free/inexpensive EQs I've come across. Both have analog
or digital modes (Posihfopit also has British and Scream modes).
The freeware EQ seems to have more options but that may be a demo limitation
in Electri-Q. Right click and hold on a frequency node to get filter
options, and there a many. The only thing I didn't find are steeper, 4-6
pole HPF and LPF filters, but overall it sounds very good. Sweeps are
nice with these EQs (fully automatable of course).

FYI,
Dedric

BTW - this one isn't so great for the mix bus or mastering, at least in
analog mode. It isn't linear phase, but minimum phase, so it does affect
depth and space adversely. Pretty cool on tracks though.

PLParEQ is a more accurate for stereo material (linear phase), but there
isn't a free version any longer.
