External USB drives with Paris? [message #86903]

Thanks for the help everyone. I had a rack mount PC with removeable drive
trays.

Instead of rebuilding that box, pardon my ignorance, are there external
drive trays available so I can pop in my old drives vai a USB port?

Also, as an additional storage solution, do the huge 500 GB external drives
via USB work just as fast or efficiently?

I would not advise using USB for multi-track audio... far too slow and
flaky.

You can buy Firewire cases. Graphite Digital makes hot-swappable Firewire
cases. USB is way too slow to use for most anything, IMHO.

I'm with the other guys. Firewire is much better for audio.

Here's what I use:
