Here is a nice Chainer and any compressor with 0 latency vst or DX (most
are 0 latency) to achieve multiband with up to 10 bands !! per track !!
Open chainer on you audio track.
Now chainer has 10 pages.
Open on as many pages as yopu want, say a 3 band splitter so you use 3 chainer
pages.
On each of the three first chainer pages you put input on first slot.
On second slot you put a frequency splitter plugin like MDA splitter (free),
or Tiny splitter (free) or whatever free ones you can find.
I use MDA splitter which sounds pristine.
So on first page you use mda splitter with a frequency of say 256 hz for
bass and use the BELOW in your mda plugin.
Now on page 2 use again mda splitter and put ABOVE and frequency the same
256hz.
Then again underneath put one instance more of mda splitter with BELOW and
requency say 4500 hz, thus you have a band-pass there.
On page 3 you put again mda splitter and use a ABOVE and frequency of 4500.
Now you have divided your audio track in three band spaces.
Remeber you can have ten !!
Now on each page underneath the mda you put you favourite compressor VST
(0 latency) and so on page two and three.
Got the picture.
Pretty easy and the results are wonderful.
HINT:
If you wanna use Rencomp from Waves which introduces 64 samples latency you
can have 3-4 instances of rencompr the same way as described above with a
fixed 64 samples latency !
Even if you put ten instances of rencomp on same audiotrack you are still
64 samples behind !
Now just use nudge delay method for that 64 samples...
