I've got a buddy in Austin who uses a Soundscape system and sends his
outputs through a hotrodded TAC Matchless console with a Manley Vari Mu, a
Nightpro EQ (with the airband boosted a bit) followed by a Finalizer to
catch the overs into a Masterlink.

I'm playing around with the song that I had posted about that Amy had hated
last weekend. I'm using 7 x different busses for the various groups of
instruments over 36 tracks. These busses are all attenuated 20dB and on
themix bus I've got the Fairchild, followed, by the UAD-1 Precision EQ,
followed by the UAD-1 precision Equalizer. I'm mixing *hot* on the
individual tracks with *whatever* inserted on the tracks and busses as I
would do in Paris using DSP and submix faders. The UAD Precision EQ really
gives it the air and sparkle after the Fairchild nicely levels it, then the
Precision Limiter kisses the mix to prevent overs.
I'm gonna try the Neve compressor later tonight.

It's sounding very*big*. Not *exactly* like Paris, but I wouldn't expect
that. Still, it's got that same kinda' *vibe*.

Alrighty then,

;o)

OK, now place a Waves ren-comp on each group set to 2-4:1,
smooth opto, about 2db of GR happening and see what you get...
