Rod, thanks for sharing that. Once I hit 3:32 I was grinning ear to ear and
couldn't stop listening.

OK, are we SURE that guy's really doing that? On a little drum machine?
With his fingers?! Come on . . . those little snare rolls sound too real .
.. .

Yep - he's doin' it. I've scared a few folks with the same knack but that
guy's about a year or two of 8-hour days practice ahead of me. He does have
a controller goin' on the hat open/closed mod.

Ask Rod, he'll tell the names of at least 3 guys who play easily more
complex percussion with their damned heels and sides of their feet while
working a real hi-hat and double kick pedals and playing mixed meter all
night long while rotating multiple odd meters simultaneously from limb to
limb AND chewing gum at a completely unrelated tempo. Beats all I ever
saw...

Sarah, if you haven't seen any Bela Fleck, check out the "drummer."

Very doable. I do it all the time myself on a RY30 using a Dave Weckl
expansion card.

Yes...Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Akira Jimbo (who does all that PLUS plays
the total harmonic and melodic song structure on pads triggering all sorts
of bass and keyboard samples)
and Marco Minnemann. All very talented, freaks of nature. What's my prize??????

You get a cookie.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could show up at a gig with nothing but a
drum machine and a pedal? Much, much easier to carry and set up....
