OK, this is it, I promise.

All the stockings are hung by the chimney with care
All the mics have been ordered or are already here
All the cables are tested, with some even twice
Plus the gear down the line, from computers to mice

But I'm left to wonder, as tracking grows near
If perhaps I'm still missing one key piece of gear
Our sixteen line converters are no better than fair
And I worry they're lacking some detail and air

So I ask you ears golden for some good advice
A stereo converter not naughty but most nice?
For Langevin to Presonus just doesn't seem right
So thanks for the help, I need it all right!

A Mytek AD is a wonderful thing
but an new one cost you 9 C's worth of bling
At Mytek, Dave Seymour, is the go-to-guy
for a refurb, with warranty, in the blink of an eye......

I told you already in the previous thread,
Whasamatter you twit, you can't get it through your head?
RME! RME! Get a Multiface now!
Not some cheap-ass converter named after a cat, bird, or cow.

You'll hear every high, and feel every low,
It's detail my friend, no bullshit, ya know.
While others are boosting from 5k & higher,
You'll reproduce sounds to which others can only aspire,

Of course you could get a 2-channel, branded DAC or Lavry,
But at their pricing levels, you'll find yourself
screaming "Why!?!?",
'Cause then you'll need two, one for "in", one for "out",
And that's a fat check that'll really make you pout,

So take it from me, for whom detail is king,
You have never before heard such a pristine thing,
As a nice LDC (with tube preamp or no),
Through a fine RME, like the Multiface, bro!

:D

i'll takes this moment to say what i thinks.
for just a 2 track mix i'd go with lynx.
but get the one with 6 in and 2 out.
if you want to more than just mix out.

but be aware that they make the 22.
it's something cheaper and may be just for you.
i've been using them for years.
if you can demo one just listen to your ears.

Agreed on the Multi or an ADI8.
He'll need a DS with double wire for high sample rate
but that's only if tracking 8 mics at a time
With single wire and a Multi 4 tracks is just fine

I'm with you for sure as to RME stuff
Bang-for-the buck, to beat it is tough
On EBay these things go for quite a bit less
when branded Nuendo...why is anyone's guess.

So type Nuendo in the Pro audio field
and check what converters the search engine yields
I got one last month for $555
Double wire, 8 channels at 96k, and that's no jive.

;o)
