Fortuantely the bad old days are almost over. AOL will be radically changing
over the next year, including opening all content to the public internet.

You got it right Chuck. Right AFTER this article was written, AOL announced
it will layoff 25% of its' total work force. That's huge. It also said it
will focus on its' advertising to its' customers. THAT, I believe, is about
the stupidest thing I have ever heard since AOL also said it will pare down
all its' other services (outside of email).
