Hi all,

I'm in need of a video card for my paris rig so I can use multiple
monitors. Currently I only have onboard vga (mobo is a BIOSTAR MCP6P-M2
- Chipset NVIDIA GeForce 6150 / nForce 430)

I've got one pci slot left on the mobo, so I need a pci solution (no AGP
slot). I did find this card that looks like it would do the job:

nVIDIA GeForce FX5500 256MB PCI Video Card

I'm wondering if anyone has had good or bad experience with this card
running with Paris? I'm just trying to avoid any potential headaches.

If there's any other cards that anyone can recommend, I'd also
appreciate it.

Cheers,

TC

Every chipset I've got has played very nicely with GeForce stuff. (that's
via, SiS, intel in my place). I use both PCI and AGP nVidia vid cards here,
from lower end to medium ( not a gamer ) level stuff. ATI and Matrox both
gave me some grief in these some of these same systems. Stick to standard
windows model drivers IMO, the gamer tweakware stuff may only bring trouble
or shortened CPU headroom.
I think you're probably in great shape going the GeForce route.
