Well, after getting a stem mix scenario going in this way, I discovered that
the bussing of my outboard FX to any track I want in the mix is compromised
by stem mixing. I have to send the external processor to either one stem bus
or another. The way I've got this configured in original track-to-track
Paris mix template, I can access any external processor or VST plugin as a
send effect on *any* track and control the global send throughthe Paris aux
so I guess I've achieved the pinnacle of what I want to do at this point.
I'm going to keep my eye on Forte though. If it ever evolves to the point
that it can access unlimited plugins and as many busses as there are I/O,
I'll definitly be all over it.
Well....it's been a fun journey. I enjoy experimentation like this when I've
got the time (and entertaining some of you) I'm back to tracking in Paris
and streaming track to track from SX to Paris during the mix. It does
everything I could ever want and then some. I just need to get a little
faster at it I guess.
I guess I'll try to wrap my head around Macro Express.

Hey Deej! I'm just throwing stuff up against the wall to see if anything
sticks. Did you ever try the Steinberg distributed processing thing? It's
were you can hook up multiple machines with light pipe, for more processing
power.
What about using forte in the same machine? Did you try the Solid Sound
Studio's Aux Bus Set software for forte?
Here it is again:

Hello DeeJ,
Stellar research even if we be funnin' ya all the time.
I have one idea to shoot to your peeps at Brainspawn Forte and that is to
proved just a simple VST to host DX plugins for the Cubase 4 crowd,
now that Steinberg has dropped DX support forever.
It seems like Forte already does that, but with all the bells and whistles,
the price of admission seems a bit high.
Regards,
el (to far behind the times) miguel
