I don't miss it at all. The compact file feature took the active segments
and glued them together as a single audio file without any space between
them. It took up less space, but the file as a whole was unusable in any
other context except that particular PARIS project.
I prefer the render feature. When I finish a PARIS project, the last thing
I do is render all my tracks to disk in a separate folder from my segmented
tracks. That way, if I should need to reopen the project in another DAW,
there is no problem with portability.
