So far it ain't pretty. A 7 slot and a 13 slot, no problem. Two 13 slotters
seem to go to war in very a major way......maybe has something to do with
the system seeing one driver and 26 PCI slots and just throwing in the
towel. I've already had one crash with irrecoverable errors. Without Ghost
.........you don't want to even go there. I'm trying to find the magic
workaround.right now. It's time consuming and tedious but it has to be
accomplished or I will die..

Heheh!!!! well.....I didn't die, but one of my mobo slots did.
Mmmmm!!!!!......smells like Behringer!!!!.

.........don't know............it might have been a defective host
card.......chassis........whatever, but the smell of fried electronics doth
permeate the control room right about now.

Lucky I've got a cheapo backup mobo cause this one is tres toasty! It still
works though. I'm just not going to be running any cards in PCI slot #3 from
now on.

I dunno. It may. This Creamware system may be an acceptable alternative to
the Paris mix bus. No kiddin'. It's actually got some headroom. I've been
asking the Pulsar guru's about this. Seems the same DSP that the Scope
system uses is also used in the Euphonics digital console and the Fairlight
system. I haven't verified it, but I'
m playing back that same 37 track project that I was working with in Cubase
a couple of weeks ago and it sounds big and open when routed via ASIO from
Cubase to the Scope mixer.

Also, looks like the PCI slot in the mobo survived, but the host card for
the Magma didn't.

Dj..Keep us posted. You have peeked my interest in this platform. I do know
that both Euphonics and Fairlight uses the sharc dsp chips or eventhe newer
dolphon chips which are great dsps.. Personally, I love dsp systems.

I know people are all jacked for native systems, but without the proper dsp,
they've all lacked something..AND, It keeps you on the PC /Mac upgrade path
forever.. Which is dumb!! When you add ut all up , you have already paid
for a turn-key DSP system.

Exactly. And don't forget to put in the 'tune' time the poor souls on native
have to go through with every new system generally. I think another things
we're going to see more problems with is "automatic updates".. mac and win.
No good can come of that for audio guys.

I'm playing back this 40 track project in SX with the latency set to 3ms.
Cubase's CPU meter is sitting at around 40% but the system doesn't seem to
be even breathing hard. I would have had to up the buffers to at least 512k
to get a dependable playback with the RME cards.

That's very good news..

I'm glad that Pulsar and the investors never gave up on their DSP solution.
Even with the pressure of the Pro Native market to just "keep upgrading "
your computer folks. This is where Paris could've landed..

The way I see it is this:

1) You can do the Pulsar/Paris combo and keep everything (In the Box)..

2) Paris-SX/Logic/DP, Pro Tools..and a Mixer (Analog or Digital).

Both with improve the summing of any DAW by leaps and bounds..

Have you tried the second host card in the first Magma?
