I think he has already tried each card individually and in pairs. Have you
tried swapping the interconnect cables around? May be a bad cable. May
also be a bad PCI slot.

Hey Al, I had this problem a couple of years ago with 3 EDS
cards on my G4 and got some great advice through this NG.
The PCI slots in your Mac may not run in order - on mine the 1st slot is
card C (#3), the second slot is card A (#1) and the 3rd slot is card B (#2)
- this is if you count from the AGP / video card slot end.
The order of the 10 pin timing cables is not important, but the
data cables must go output card A to input card B, output B to input C, output
C to intput A for it all to work.

Hey simmo,
Thanks for that input. It turns out that the cards were not hooked up in
the proper sequence, but my sequence does not match your configuration. My
machine is the AGP graphics G4 500 mhz and my sequence runs (from the AGP
video card) 1=card A, 2=card C and 3=card B - different from yours which
you said was (3,1,2) mine runs (1,3,2). don't quite get why they make em
different but at least I,ve now got it working thanks to all of your help!!
This NG does rock!
At any rate, I just wanted to configure this 3 card system on my G4-500 and
get it all working together before I move Paris to a newer Mac I just purchased.
I got a 1.25 GHZ MDD G4 single processor because that is the last & fastest
machine they made that boots 9.2, and not needing the dual processors for
Paris it made sense to get the single processor machine as it runs quiter
also (which was again some very helpful advice from this NG)
So thanks again all!

Hi again Al,
Great to hear that you've got the 3 EDS cards running on your G4. I've heard
that there's quite a bit of variation in various
G4 Mac models, and so some trial and error stuff is necessary.
Mine's an 833Mhz, but I've just bought a single-processor
mirror door 1.25Mhz and I hope to install PARIS soon; hopefully it will run
even better.
I would love to hear your install notes if you are doing this sometime soon.
