Hi Gang, Long time. Is it just me, or have the current tools (DAWS) are just catching up to Paris's sonics?

I say this because, these days I primarily mix in Pro Tools (HD/HD native) and Nuendo. Pro Tools today is the best sounding Pro Tools ever. And, I find it very funny that they finally dropped TDM and fix-point processing ,and after 15 years!!, adapting to 32 bit floating point and the like (ala Native).

Let me get to the Points:

With plugins like Steven Slates VCC (Vitual Console) and VTM (Virtual Tape), now I can make Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic sound like ...dae I say Paris? Smile

How much grief did we take for Paris's "dark sound". We Paris users knew all to well how easy it is to mix on.
I'm glad the industry has such new tools for the current DAWs, like I stated, I can now make Pro Tools 9 (HD) sound like Paris.

What are you thoughts. Me, I stil have 4 (EDS-1000) cards and wnt 1 more.If anyone is selling one, let me know.
Take care..

Hey Lamont -

I saw your post on the Slutz Slate VTM thread. Yeah I find the VCC and the VTM to be outstanding. I'm using them with Presonus Studio One 2 and some outboard.

Really quite amazed at what those two plugs do for a mix.

I also love Mixbuss, but it's still a bit buggy on PC, and my MacBook Pro isn't strong enough to do the heavy lifting VCC and VTM require.

I sent a bunch of stems out for analog summing on an SSL, then put the same stems into Paris. Wow. Paris seemed to have so much head room. However, as part of the summing routine, this guy also makes mix suggestions/tweaks for me, which I welcome.

Hope yer well.

Ted

I have not tried..But, I really don't think Paris needs VTM or VCC. Paris's mixer and recording alogs already adds that (3D)effect.
