I generally stick to recording my tunes in my studio. Freakin' navel gazer.
Anyhoo, some kids here in town have pretty hip metal band going and they
asked me to do some recording for them. My space is teenie, so they got a
local theater -on the second floor of an old local town hall. Loads of
1920's soul. I unhooked my Paris rig and computer, hooked it back up again
at the theater, ran eight lines in, and presto -what a great sound. Man,
even the rough mixes, just tossing the faders around, and I got some great
tones. Two things were especially cool for me. First, even with my high
tower computer Paris is really very portable. Second, this was my first
time tracking a band, I usually just track midi stuff, so working with warm
bodies playing real-time was quite nifty.

We're going to tracks some vocals tomorrow, so there's still more fun to
come... and then we're on to mixin' hehe.

Cheers,
MR
