NOT well said... and I read your other comments about the DRM article and
you stated something about it being typical Microsoft bashing.. or
something. People really amaze me who they walk through life with blinders.
I am not sure your age, but I personally be computing since DOS 2.1, along
with self taught C programming, amongst many more... but I personally
watched MS come from nothing to something... I also personally witnessed
their business stratagies and tactics... It's not bashing them... it's all
facts and until people learn that.. it won't go away.
That said... and back to the article and comment... When you buy a CD and
copy it on cassette (like we have done a zillion times back in the 80's and
90's)... where is this DRM? With all this bullshit about DRM, we are losing
a basic prinicple.. purchase or rent. What these money-sucking companies
want is to place a rental fee on digital content... you no longer purchase
the content, like a CD, cassette or album.
This is all wrong. DRM needs to go away and hopefully people will stop
buying it. But that's another problem. Many of the kids growing up now are
use to it sincethey've had an iPod since they were kids and they think it is
all natural.
I don't have an iPod or any other player... and that is why, they are all
proprietary or DRM infested....

Yeah, I'm pretty new to computers, so I guess I should spend some more time
thinking about these things. You might be right, it could be a generational
thing, with people my age not taking the time to work this stuff out. I probably
should listen more to people better informed than I am. Have you heard of
linux? Those linux guys seem to really care about freedom. It's sort of an
interesting idea, I've been thinking I should check it out when I have time.
