OK, my turn to weigh in on all this suicide stuff:

Apart from the fact that suicide hurts more people than just

OK, so following this logic, if you worked at a place with a
whole bunch of friends & acquantances, and two friends of yours
got fired, you would kill yourself?

Especially now that they're short one vocalist.

Tells me that the family might be acting like dickheads?
Anyway, I'm not judging the guy - I can see how someone might
fall to such levels of despair that they see no way out & feel
that they have nothing to look ahead to, but to just place
blame on external pressures or people is pretty lame... lots of
people have dealt with a whole lot worse circumstances than
whatever he was facing & they didn't off themselves. POW's,
homeless people, Katrina or Tsunami victims who lost
everything they owned while watching a family member or two
drown in the process, the list goes on & fucking on.
Again, not saying it's as simple as: "suck it up, man!", but
certainly external pressures are only a small portion of the
equation when something like this occurs.

I'm with you, Neil. We can't know what this man was experiencing, but he
obviously found it intolerable, and we have no place to judge.
Everybody dies . . . some people decide not to wait for their own special
life sentence and take matters into their own hands in order to end their
suffering. Yes, it's sad that no one could relieve his pain before he took
this irreversible step, and it's very sad for loved ones, but blame is
pointless and serves only to add misery to a miserable situation.
He's not coming back, let's just cherish what he left us.
