I think the only stand alone program is Soundtrack pro 2, the rest are integrated.
You can import export, and drag and drop multi track audio between the
two programs. With dual monitors and program switching it shouldn't be a
problem. I'm glad they included Soundtrack pro 2.

HI James,
He can run Cubase just fine on the Mac side too. :)
Logic 8 is one of the main reasons I pushed to have us become Apple
dealers awhile ago.
Was kinda hoping thought that Apple would come up with new ideas in
Logic 8 instead of just fine tuning everybody else's ideas. But is still
looks great and is a big improvement over the old versions.
If DJ is gonna buy a Mac it's gonna be from me or hes a dead man!!!
Plus our pricing is way better anyways.

Hi James,
Yep for sure Dell is not anymore competitive than Apple for the same
specs. I've already had a Dell precision 690 hear to troubleshoot for
some audio compatibility issues and they are not at all higher quality
and the Mac. I don't even bother selling the PC Xeons at this point.
They are working great for Video stuff like Premiere and Vegas but the
audio software and hardware is having tough time. At this point if
someone really wants a 8 core machine I would only point them to a Mac
Pro. That being said if the AMD gets there shot together on the PC they
have a chance to get back some of that the high end workstation/server
market. They still have a better buss design than Intel for the Multi
CPU based systems.
Here are 3 systems from today.
Dell - $4160.00 (The Dell configuration is not capable of letting you
choose the right number CPUs to do the quad 3.0ghz) According to their
web site add $1000 for one Quad 3.0ghz CPU so the price goes up to more
than 5160.00 but you only get one Quad core CPU. It will be at least
another $500 minimum to really have a 3.0 ghz 8 core machine. The video
card is crap and will have limits to what size and type of monitors you
can use.
My System Details
Quad Core Intel Xeon Processor E5335 (2.00GHz, 2 X 4MB L2,1333)

I am humbled and in awe. That is sooo cool!!!. I I guess now I'm going to
have to go out and mine a bunch of iron ore, nickel and chromium, build a
foundry, use the foundry to create steel, use the steel to build a drilling
rig, and drill my own oil well, then use some more steel to create an oil
refinery, use the refinery to make plastic,. Then mine some more copper for
the wiring and crunch up some sand fro the silicone and make a iant wafer
about 10 ft. across and pur 500 trillion transistors on it, then I'll steal
your code and start marketing "my Mac".
