Is that for live, Deej, or are you really suggesting a dedicated
computer for BFD? Is BFD that much of a CPU hog?
I haven't used BFD. But I can trigger complex libraries from my DDrums,
via MIDI, using Battery 2 as a plugin in Logic. My dual 2.5GHZ Mac
doesn't sweat it, no additional computer necessary. Superior worked OK
also, back when I was testing it.

Your 2.5Ghz duallie should work just fine as long as you have sufficient
RAM. I didn't know what kind of rig John was using, but thus the suggestion
that he spend as much $$ as possible.

Ah, gotcha.
Another option, if RAM is short, is to enable direct from disk mode.
Does BFD support something like that?
I'm running with just 2.5GB RAM and haven't had a problem, even with
huge scores running multiple instances of a variety of plugins for
orchestral sections, large piano sample set, large drum/percussion
sample sets and tons of recorded instrument tracks, and even while also
running other programs. But since this thing will take up to 8GB I've
been mulling throwing in a couple more GB RAM for extra headroom on the
graphics/animation side.

It does stream from disk normally. For live triggering, I'm thinking it
would be perhaps a bit more frisky if the samples were loaded to RAM. I'm
going to map the Korg wussie controller to BFD and see how it works.
