When I mix, I seldom boost frequencies over +2-3dB with digital EQ's. One
reason is headroom, but another equally important reason is that I really
haven't experienced a digital EQ that sounded that good when boosting
frequencies more than +3dB. This is one reason I have been keeping analog
hardware in my rack. The analog hardware works much better for this to my
ear. Well........the UAD-1 Neve EQ is accomplishing the same thing. It's
very "hardware'esque" so now I can hose my mix bus headroom really quick and
therefore have to start over from scratch much sooner than before so this
sames me time.

Hey DJ,

How are you using the UAD-1 Neve with Paris?
