Anybody used this? I'm thinking of it as a direct box for practicing and such.
Opinions?

I should know in a couple of weeks, it's included in my Komplete update,
supposedly shipping mid-month.

I'll be evaluating whether there might be any advantages to using GR2
instead of the GNX4 at some live solo shows - I'm curious if the looping
is more flexible.

If the guitar amp/cab models are on par with those included with Logic,
it should be more than fine for practicing. You might even be tempted to
drag a laptop to gigs...

Cheers,
-Jamie

Hey TCB,

Have you checked out the Toneport's from Line6?

I purchased the 2-port (UX2) which has really worked out nicely. It has guitar
amp/cab, bass amp/cab, mic pre, and microphone modeling and is compatible
with the Line6 add-on packs.

Quite a good deal for the money, IMHO.

Best wishes!

Mark

Try the demo version.

The new Waves/PRS system looks and sounds pretty good. At least from the
demos I listened to. Demo version here:

Tried it, love it. You need a good low latency card for sure.

I own it, as well as Amplitube 2, Logic Guitar Amp, Nigel, and Amp Farm 3.

Amplitube 2 blows them all away, with Amp Farm III coming in 2nd (but it's TDM only).

AT2 responds to your playing much more like a tube amp does.

Guitar Rig II is decent, the effects are nice, but there's no comparison.

Cheers,

TC

It depends on the style of playing. I think for Clean, funk,Country, Jazz,
Rig 2 is the champ.
Amplitude 2 has some nice crunch and burn tones, however,I would not say
that it's better for rock than Rig 2..

All depends on the style you;re going for.

True, the sounds are very good and tweakable on both, but AT2 just feels better to me.

To me it's a little like playing a pod vs. playing a tube amp.

Cheers,

TC
