Jeez... multitasking ...
1/4 *MILE* !! We have a 1/2 mile deep and about 3/4 mile wide facility.
Old habits, talking audio, typing that connector... duh...
I can reach the pre and routing stage with Soundweb, however the amps
require a slightly different method so I'm improvising. It's all going to be
CDi or XTi, and every building will be a Venue on the main network if I have
my way about it.

We've had mixed success with the XTi... lots of failures. Also, the DSP
is after the input level controls, so the noise floor of the DSP (which
is substantial) can't be attenuated.

Most of what we're using it for is not musical production, it's paging in
buildings/barns so it works out fine for that. The CDi-1000 is the model
most used at this point. I've seen some failures here on that but it's
mainly due to being subjected to a nasty environment and heat. The K1's and
K2's have been pretty solid, but have no USB control. They're getting up
there in age though, so what would you recommend as a replacement there that
has USB interface feedback and control? Those are mostly in our main
pavilion and are a music production setting. (

The XTi I've had personal experience with using it for my live band, and
it's been pretty bullet proof so far. But then again, a noisy club wouldn't
show much noise floor issue really.
It's good to know though that they have that issue so I won't try to use
them in a more critical environment.
