Hi Tom,
Thanks for the kind words. it's pretty cool transferring an ADAT tape in
XP right now.
Unfortunately, I don't have 2 ADAT cards to test that problem specifically,
but I debugged the shit out of the PSCL and the adat.dll to fix this. I
don't think there is anything that would cause only one card to be recognized.
I think it's more likely that it was pure luck whether a slot responded
fast enough to load the old driver. It was just unlikely that there would
be two. My machine didn't even recognize my one.
If that bug persists and someone wants me to debug it, I'd happily accept
an ADAT card. :) But, I think everything will be fine as it is. The PSCL
loads the driver for each slot one after another in two steps. It's pretty
"civil". I think the adat.dll was just not waiting long enough for slots
to respond to its requests. It was also scheduling a "guard" thread that
canceled requests if they "timed out." The code for that is in the PSCL
and seems to be badly broken. I'm working just fine with it disabled. :)
The best part is that this is an improvement over the 98 driver. I used
to have to unplug and replug my ADAT and swear at my ADAT card in 98 to get
it to transfer a tape, probably because of that crap guard thread. This
pretty much just works.
Life is good. :)

Hi Jeff,
Thanks so much for the offer. I was just kidding, though. I'm sure the
driver is fine.
All the best,
Mike
